HISTORY

Homestead Acres is the farm of the Sherwood family which was purchased in 1886. Pictured are Wayne and Barbara Sherwood, who have passed on the farm to their daughter, Loni.

PRESENT

Loni (Sherwood) Blissett, manages her menagerie of animals and uses FARM TOURS to educate visitors about Rare and Minor Breeds of Farm Livestock. She is the fourth generation to operate the farm.

Homestead Acres is a real, working farm. During the summer our main activity is putting up hay for our animals. With about 60 head of livestock on the farm we go through allot of hay. During the winter months we work on cleaning our sheep and alpaca fiber and then getting it ready to sell at the farm and at fiber events in the spring and fall. As you can tell....we keep busy!!
